Buckhead Convenience One of the greatest benefits of living in Peachtree Park is the convenient location. Situated in the heart of Buckhead, Peachtree Park provides residents with access to one of the most diverse and exciting urban areas in America. The neighborhood is near the intersection of Peachtree and Piedmont Roads, west of Lenox Square. It’s within walking distance to the Lenox Square Mall, Phipps Plaza, the most popular in-town Atlanta restaurants, and Peachtree Road and Lenox Road MARTA stations, as well as the Lindbergh Center Marta rapid rail stations and bus depot.

A landscaped pedestrian bridge across Georgia 400 at the end of East Paces Ferry Road connects Peachtree Park to shopping, dining and theaters at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. Many residents employed in the Buckhead business district walk to work. The downtown and midtown business districts to the south are minutes away by car via Georgia 400 or by the MARTA rail line. The Perimeter Center medical, office and retail complex is equally accessible to the north.
Peachtree Park Bridge gets a makeover! By Julie Stewart,
Landscape Chair
In December, the Peachtree Park Bridge over to Lenox got a great makeover. Many thanks to our partners, Friends of Peachtree Park and Lenox who donated substantial funds to make the beautification happen. The makeover was on the inside of several of the beds as well as the outside. Thanks to Kathy Montgomery (KMA Gardens) working with Green Rooftops to donate the “guts” of the beds, several of the beds received proper commercial grade rooftop garden drainage and soil that will require less water and enable the plants to live and flourish longer. Additionally, the bridge was planted with sustainable plants and painted (isn’t it so soothing?) to bring a residential look to the bridge. KMA Gardens is also a premium sponsor for Peachtree Park.
Friends of Peachtree Park (“Friends”) is a non-profit organization run by volunteers who live in and love Peachtree Park. It was established in 1988 by Pat Koester, Rebecca Owens, John Patillo, and Vic Buknic with the mission to support the beautification of the natural areas in Peachtree Park. Near the death of John Patillo, Trey and Valerie Vaughan stepped in. There have been many other volunteers who have worked with Friends as well. Before the bridge, there have been projects such as the sign toppers in Peachtree Park and plantings of various islands (especially some of the old, beautiful daylilies that are seen in some of the older landscaped islands). Recently, Friends has instituted a new board and has some incredible plans for our neighborhood areas. Stay tuned on information from them.
Lenox, in addition to the capital support for the bridge, also has committed to some improvements on the commercial portion of the bridge near Suntrust. The management was also very helpful during our graffiti problems in the early fall. We continue to appreciate their support.
PPCA Landscaping has been busy working on small areas at a time to bring a cleaner look and safer streets to several of the smaller islands around the neighborhood. We hope you have noticed. Your ideas and contributions are so helpful. Please send those to
