PPCA Board Meeting

The next meeting of the PPCA Board will be held at the home of Jason Kendall on March 17th at 7:00 p.m..   The Kendall's live at 11 Park Circle and all neighborhood residents are invited to attend.

The Neighborhood Discussion Group is Here!

Have some information you want to share with your neighbors?  Need to ask a question about Peachtree Park?  Have a neighborhood concern or suggestion?  Or just a great idea?  The discussion group might be the place for you!

To facilitate and improve communications with your neighbors, the PPCA is sponsoring the Peachtree Park Neighborhood Google Group.  The group will serve as an online meeting spot for the residents of Peachtree Park to share news, ideas and resources.

-  Join in on what others are talking about.  From within the discussion group, you can reply to a message that someone else posted, or post a message or question of your own.
-  Start a new discussion within the group.
-  Discuss online or over email.  You can choose whether you want to read and post messages online, or to just use your current email account to read and respond.

To access and join the group, please click on the following link:  http://groups.google.com/group/peachtreepark?hl=en.  It's open to only Peachtree Park residents.

If you need help or have questions, neighborhood resident, Paige Perkins, has volunteered her time to setup the group and administer it.  Please contact her at paigeperkins@gmail.com, and be sure to thank her!

Special Thanks...

Girl Scout and neighborhood resident, Annie Ladisic, helped beautify Peachtree Park as part of her Silver Award.  She also formatted an educational flyer on Curbside Recycling, printed and distributed to all 550+ Peachtree Park residents!  Click here to read more and see pictures.

Be Safe this Holiday!
by David Simpson, PPCA Security Chair

As previously reported, the neighborhood suffered three car break-ins and one attempted vehicle theft earlier this month.

With the holidays rapidly approaching, and the tendency to leave valuables in the car while shopping, be advised of the following report from the Atlanta Police Department, Zone 2:

From November 1 through November 7, Zone 2 experienced 53 car break-ins.  In most cases the passenger side window was broken out.  (This is usually the side not facing the street so the bad guys are not exposed)  In only four of the cases nothing was taken, because there was nothing to take.  The biggest target item is a GPS device, usually mounted on the windshield.  The next favorite item is a laptop computer, followed by cellphones, i-pods, purses with check books and credit/debit cards, and HANDGUNS.

My favorite item taken was an owner's manual to a Volvo C70.  (Most perps don't drive Volvos).

Please be smart this holiday season.  Do not leave anything exposed in the car.  A bag of dirty laundry could get your window broken out.

Have a safe holiday.
